9 of the best nappy sacks 2024

Nappy sacks

WHAT ARE NAPPY SACKS?

Nappy sacks are thin bags that are often perfumed and used for disposing of nappies in your bin while reducing bad smells. Keep them out of your baby’s reach at all times to avoid suffocation.

Do you need nappy sacks?

They may not be necessary if you have a nappy bin or an easily accessible outdoor bin. If you take your kitchen bin rubbish out regularly there’s also no reason why you can’t just put a nappy there without a nappy sack.

What to look out for when choosing nappy sacks

Biodegradable nappy bags are available. While they will still take a long time to break down in landfill conditions, there won’t be any of the chemicals associated with plastic leaching into the environment.

Some are also compostable. This means they will break down more quickly. But they are not suitable for home composting when used with nappies as no nappy is 100% compostable. Plus a home compost wouldn’t have the high temperatures needed to kill the harmful bacteria in a soiled nappy.

Tie handles will make nappy sacks very easy to tie up.
